We're excited to announce our new edition to Starr Vaughn Equestrian, 'Donarweiss', a 10 year old approved Hanoverian stallion from Hill Top Farm!

Donarweiss  GGF

2001 Black Hanoverian Stallion, 16 hands

De Niro – Hohenstein – Archipel

Donarweiss was Champion of his 30-day test with an overall score of 8.33.  His versatility was showcased with individual scores of 9 for rideability and jumping technique. In 2008, his first season at FEI, Donarweiss was ranked 1st for the AHS All-Breeds Awards with a median score over 68%.  In 2009 he won the USDF Region 8 Prix St. Georges Championships. The following season, Donarweiss finished 2nd in AHS All-Breeds Awards and 11th in the nation for Intermediaire II with scores as high as 72% and in 2011 he has been winning at Grand Prix with a median score over 65%.  In the fall of 2011 Donarweiss was purchased by Starr Vaughn Equestrian Center and will be competed by Genay Vaughn in the FEI Young Riders and Brentina Cup divisions in the coming years.

Donarweiss’s sire De Niro was Reserve Champion of his Performance Test with a score of 141.93. De Niro had a wonderful sport career with over 24 wins at S level and has sired 108 States Premium Mares, 25 approved sons, and international-quality Grand Prix horses to his credit.  Grandsire Donnerhall was for many years the leading dressage stallion in the world and won medals at the European Championships and World Equestrian Games. Donarweiss’s dam sire, Hohenstein, was Reserve Champion of his Stallion Performance Test.  Further back in Donarweiss’s pedigree we find Archipel, a son of the 1994 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year Argentan, brings additional scope and jumping ability.

Intelligent, athletic, and charismatic describe Donarweiss and his offspring.  For the past three years Donarweiss has sired foals that have tied for high-score in the nation with ISR/OldenburgNA.  His offspring are consistently winning at Breed Shows around the nation and the filly Dior CCF is the 2011 USDF Horse of the Year for weanling fillies.Donarweiss’s oldest offspring are now proving themselves under saddle at both dressage and hunter competitions and we look forward to watching them join their sire in the competition arena in the coming years.

In 2012 Donarweiss will only be available via frozen semen with a Live-Foal Guarantee.  He is EVA-negative and is homozygous black.  Current stud fee is $1800 (discounts for Premium/Elite, Performance Mares, etc are available).  To receive a free DVD or to learn more information about Donarweiss, please contact Hilltop Farm, Natalie DiBerardinis Breeding Manager, 410-658-9898 or or visit
